Hailey Bieber suffered from a life-threatening postpartum hemorrhage after giving birth to her and Justin Bieber’s son, Jack.

The Rhode founder, 28, called the experience “a little bit scary,” during a new interview with Vogue magazine.

“I trust my doctor with my life,” Hailey explained. “And so I had peace that I knew she would never let anything happen to me. But I was bleeding really badly, and people die, and the thought crosses your mind.”

Baby Jack was whisked away after delivery while doctors attempted to get her blood to clot.

“You start to get a little freaked out,” she added.

According to the NIH, postpartum hemorrhage (PPH), “poses a significant risk to maternal health and is characterized by excessive blood loss after delivery.”

Hailey, who welcomed Jack in August 2024, also shared that his birth was not easy.

Although the model had spent months diligently prepping — “breathing exercises, acupuncture, yoga, pelvic-floor therapy, workouts, walking, weight training” — she began leaking amniotic fluid at 39 weeks and was induced.

Doctors administered Pitocin, a medication that brings on contractions, and a Foley balloon, which is inserted into the uterus to dilate the cervix.

“That s–t was so crazy,” she recalled. “That was not fun. They broke my water. I went into labor and I labored for a few hours” without an epidural.

Hailey’s postpartum journey was also fraught as she struggled with body dysmorphia and experienced “self-hatred.”

She would spend time searching for nasty comments, a confirmation that she looked bad, and then feel depressed when she found them and annoyed at herself for looking.

“Every day I have to talk to myself, like, Hailey, you had a baby,” she shared. “You grew a human. You birthed a human. It’s okay. Give yourself grace. Give yourself time.”

Earlier this month, the Vogue cover girl opened up about having ovarian cysts that have left her feeling “nauseous” and “emotional.”

She and Justin, 31, whom she married in 2018, have recently come under scrutiny due to the “Sorry” singer’s erratic behavior in the last few months.

Despite the rampant speculation about the state of their relationship the couple has continued to put on a united front.
